How Fee-for-Service Dental Insurance Works
As an insurance-friendly dental practice, Smiles by Martin welcomes your PPO dental insurance plan and will be happy to file claims on your behalf.
Most of the standard benefits you can expect include:
- Preventive care: 100% covered. Cleanings, exams, and routine X-rays usually fall into this category.
- Minor restorative care: 70 – 80% covered. Fillings and simple extractions are usually classified as minor services.
- Major restorative care: 50% covered. Crowns and some types of oral surgery are often deemed major services.
Currently, we are only in-network with Cigna, so we are not in a contract with any other insurance company. Although the fees associated with treatment will require upfront payment, our team will make sure to file the necessary paperwork with your insurance company so that you receive the maximum reimbursement.
What is the Difference Between Dental and Medical Insurance?
Medical and dental insurance are both designed to help you stay well. However, dental insurance has a strong preventive focus. Covering things like cleanings and exams can help you maintain your oral and overall health. Medical insurance, on the other hand, is broader in scope. However, even if you do not have Cigna dental insurance, but you want to see our team for all your oral healthcare needs, we will make sure to file all the necessary claims forms to help maximize your reimbursement.
